Sci-fi franchise Star Wars could be coming to a cinema near you in 3D, according to reports.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Lucas revealed that he enjoyed Avatar, which has become the highest grossing film ever.
"[I'm] happy it's so successful, and worked very well in 3D. Haven't been a big fan of 3D, but that movie definitely improves 3D," he noted.
Star Wars was first released in 1977 and was followed by Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi in 1983.
In 2002, Episode II - Attack of the Clones was released with Episode III Return of the Sith in 2005 and The Force Unleashed in 2008 following.
Lucas also told the news provider that that the Star Wars production team have been trying to find a way to turn the Star War installments into 3D but had not been able to see a solution.
"Technology hasn't been there. We've been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen," he revealed.
