Alys Fowler to front edible garden series
22/01/2010
A new BBC gardening series called The Edible Garden is set to air this March, it has been revealed.
During the show, subtitled "How To Have Your Garden And Eat It", presenter Alys Fowler sets out to prove growing and cooking fruit is not as difficult as imagined.
Ms Fowler is set to show how she transforms her garden into a place where lettuces sit happily next to sunflowers and peas climb up roses, proving that vegetables and flowers can live happily in the garden together.
She will also reveal how to make a meal a day using only home-grown produce from a regular back garden.
"Alys creates tasty dishes from the produce she has grown and meets the experts who will show her how to preserve, pickle and store her wares," the BBC said.
The show is among one of five new gardening series which the BBC plans to air over the coming year. Monty Don, Alan Titchmarsh, Carol Klein and Sarah Raven will present the new shows.
