Presenter, writer and adventurer Ben Fogle has announced that his next expedition will see him attempt to retrace the footsteps of two men who travelled across Australia.
The adventurer has already undertaken trips through the Andes, along the Black Cat Trail in Papua New Guinea and across Antarctica.
"This year is the 150th anniversary of a very famous expedition across Australia by Burke and Wills; a Brit and an Irishman who effectively opened up the interior of Australia 150 years ago," Fogle announced.
Along with Olympic medallist James Cracknell, Fogle will attempt the journey which Robert O'Hara Burke and John Wills died on.
The route can take up to half a year to complete, Fogle noted but added that he has promised his wife that he won't be away that long.
"What we liked about the idea of retracing their footsteps for 2,500 miles is that it's another environment, it's a whole new chapter in what we've done. It's not just a desert, it's open bush; you've got rainforests, you've got mountains, you've got swamps, absolutely everything," he added.
