Chris Evans' Radio 2 show will be 30 mins longer
02/10/2009
Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans will broadcast for half an hour longer than Sir Terry Wogan when he takes over his famous breakfast show next year.
The 43-year-old will start his programme at 07:00 GMT instead of the 07:30 time Wogan began at.
Evans joked to the BBC: "Terry had it very easy - no other breakfast show in the world starts at half-past-seven."
Speaking at the launch of his autobiography It's Not What You Think, Evans, the DJ said he was not nervous about taking over the reins from Sir Terry.
"This is what I do for a living so I'm looking forward to it," he said, adding: "It's my job to look after what Terry's left behind so I'll try to do that the best I can."
Fellow DJ Simon Mayo has been confirmed as Evans' replacement for his drivetime show and will move over from Radio 5 Live.
