Hugh Jackman halts play after phone call interruption

Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman halted a performance of his new Broadway play A Steady Rain because of a mobile phone ringing in the audience. Jackman, who is appearing with 007 actor Daniel Craig in the production, paused mid-dialogue when the phone rang, saying: "We can wait. Don't be embarrassed - just grab it." After becoming increasingly frustrated with the incessant ringing, the Australian actor added: "Come on, just turn it off ... unless you've got a better story." Ironically, all the action was caught on video by someone subversively using their mobile phone. The pair are starring in the Keith Huff play, which focuses on two Chicago policemen and their differing accounts of a few days that changed their lives. Jackman is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise of films and he is also due to appear in the upcoming Madeleine Stowe film Unbound Captives, which also stars Robert Pattinson, Rachel Weisz and Garret Dillahunt.
