The Hobbit isn't delayed, says Peter Jackson
19/04/2010
Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit has not been delayed, the films' executive producer Peter Jackson has claimed. Speaking to Moviefone, the 48-year-old dismissed suggestions of any delays. He said: "Well, it's not really been delayed, because we've never announced the date. "I mean it's sort of interesting because the studio has never greenlit The Hobbit, so therefore The Hobbit has never been officially announced as a 'go' project, nor have we ever announced a date." Jackson, who won the best director, best picture and best adapted screenplay Oscars for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in 2004, also revealed that scripts for The Hobbit have been delivered to MGM. He added that Guillermo del Toro, who will direct the project, is currently in the budgeting stage. It is rumoured that Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving and Doug Jones will all star in The Hobbit. Celebrate in style with our latest champagne offers.
