Botox, neck and facelifts, and bleparoplasty 'keeping us young for longer'
22/07/2010
Botox, fillers, neck and facelifts, and bleparoplasty might once have been the preserve of celebrities but now us mere mortals are cottoning on, if reports are to be believed.According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), 36,482 surgical procedures were carried out by its members in 2009. That's not even including non-surgical cosmetic procedures, like Botox. Lisa Littlehales, nurse counsellor at The Harley Medical Group, said: "In terms of non-surgical procedures, Botox, to tighten and smooth, and dermal fillers, to plump and fill wrinkles, are the most popular anti-aging treatments." She added: "The most popular surgical anti-aging procedures are face/neck lift and bleparoplasty [eye bag removal]." It doesn't look like the popularity of cosmetic surgery is going to decrease anytime soon because celebs still seem to love it. Only recently, Anastacia told Bang Media that she regularly has Botox injections because she hates her frown lines. Don't miss out on the best health and beauty offers by visiting the page regularly!
