Botox provides a boost in the recession

22/10/2009

Botox provides a boost in the recessionBotox is proving itself to be "recession proof" as an increasing number of women turn to the treatment to make themselves feel good.

Dr Alana Rowick of Vice Aesthetics stated that in hard economic times people often turn to small things that make them feel good, with previous recessions seeing sales of lipstick and chocolate soar.

"When you look great you have more confidence - most of my clients are looking for a boost and Botox and dermal fillers provide that almost instantly," she said.

Dr Rowick added that affordability is a big factor in the growing numbers of people opting for Botox, as while it is not cheap it is much more cost-effective than cosmetic surgery such as a facelift.

Celebrity make-up artist Sadie Jean Sloss recently stated that women should not be embarrassed to talk about their Botox, adding that in some cities women as young as 25 are regularly having the treatment.
