Brits over 40 feel ten years younger
13/10/2009
The average person in the UK aged 40 or over feels 11.5 years younger than their actual age, while most 20 year olds feel old before their time, according to a new survey.A report from PruHealth found that the strains and stresses of modern life are taking their toll on younger generations while those in their 40s and 50s feel healthy and energetic. It revealed that people in their 20s and 30s experience a dip in their energy levels throughout the day more than any other age group, even retirees. The top three reasons for lower energy levels were identified as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise and not getting enough sleep. Shaun Matisonn, chief executive officer of PruHealth, said: "While it's wonderful to see that the older we get, the better we feel, the energy levels of those under 40 clearly needs more attention." And with the over-50s having plenty of excess energy, Manchester City Council has recently distributed a free 40-page illustrated sex guide aimed at this age group.
