Mini-facelift 'offers best of both worlds'
12/07/2010
The 'mini-facelift', a procedure that offers the conventional beauty benefits of a full procedure but with less recovery time, is likely to increase in popularity, it has been claimed.Surgeons in America believe that the availability of treatments such as Botox and injectable fillers mean that customers are used to seeing results without the pain or long downtime periods brought about by traditional procedures. Colorado-based surgeon Dr Andrew Wolfe commented that Botox is able to reduce wrinkles caused by muscle contraction, such as crow's feet or frown lines but cannot reposition facial and neck sagging or reduce wrinkles caused by loose skin. "The results that a facelift can deliver are dramatic and long-lasting, but many patients are reluctant to undergo an invasive procedure that has a significant recovery period," he added. Last week, Sally Penford, education manager for the International Dermal Institute, cautioned that there is currently no instant cure for ageing skin. Posted by Carla Spuri ![]() |
