Optical Express performs laser eye surgery on Olympic rower

 Laser eye surgery specialist Optical Express has corrected the vision of champion rower Pete Reed as part of his preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Reed underwent LASIK surgery using the Wavefront and Intralase technologies at the hands of top surgeon Rodney Blumenfield, who has more than 22,000 procedures under his belt.
The athlete said he was "delighted" with his new and perfect vision from undergoing laser eye surgery.
"It's not just the brand new feeling of being able to see better than 20/20, but the convenience of not having to use contacts or glasses for my training and racing," he added.
Reed is a two-time world champion in the men's coxless fours and gold medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Olympic gold medal-winning triple jumper Jonathan Edwards also spoke about his laser eye treatment saying that having perfect vision "can give you a huge advantage".
