Reporter's vision 'pain free and perfect' hours after laser eye surgery

A reporter who recently underwent laser eye surgery has said he now has "perfect vision" and offers reassurance to people concerned about the treatment. Michael Purton, who had worn glasses or contact lenses since the age of 16, documented his experience of laser eye treatment for This is Local London and said that despite being nervous about the procedure he felt no discomfort during the surgery. "I was only in the theatre for five minutes, and when I sat up after surgery and opened my eyes I noticed a dramatic improvement in my sight," he told the news provider. He added that his eyes were initially sore following the procedure, but after a few hours' sleep they were pain free and his vision was perfect. Earlier this month, Ultralase, the vision correction specialist, announced the launch of its new Ultraelite treatment.
