The elixir of youth is a myth, says doctor
09/07/2010
If you've been paying attention to the health and beauty pages of newspapers this week, you might have read a story about the world's first wrinkle-busting drink.Makers of the Glamtox Sticks, which are collagen-packed powder sachets, claim the drink reduces lines by a staggering 30 per cent over a six-week period. Celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham and Kate Bosworth are all said to be fans of the sticks, and now us mere mortals will be able to try out the products. The drink are suppose to work by attacking the signs of ageing internally, thereby alleviating the need for painful injections or operations, which sounds good to us. But, Sally Penford, education manager for the International Dermal Institute, warned that there's no instant cure for ageing skin at the moment. "There are fantastic products that can really help improve the integrity of your skin, but there is no product that can be a miracle cure," she said. We'll just have to keep on searching for the elixir of youth. Posted by Carla Spuri ![]() |
