15/01/2010

Alan Titchmarsh to get hands dirty againFormer Gardeners' World host Alan Titchmarsh is to get his hands dirty once more after signing up for a new gardening show.

Called Alan's Garden Secrets, Mr Titchmarsh is to demonstrate how to create some of the UK's showpiece gardens in the new show on BBC Two.

The show will look at how some of the UK's top gardens impacted on master gardeners and will demonstrate how the same effects can be created at home.

Mr Titchmarsh said he was "delighted" to be returning to BBC2.

"Not only will I be able to share some of my favourite gardens from across the country but I'll be getting my hands dirty passing on some hints and tips to viewers so they can create some of the same magic in their own gardens," he added.

Gardeners' World executive producer Gill Tierney recently told the Radio Times that the iconic gardening show is to go back to its old format after losing viewers in the last series.
