Back bed mattress 'can cause back problems'

Back bed mattress 'can cause back problems'Sleeping in your bed could be doing more than refreshing you for the morning, it has been claimed.

According to Fit Sugar, an old bed mattress could cause back problems. The health site advises that mattresses are replaced every five to seven years, in order to ensure they provide the best quality of support to people with back issues.

"Also note that a firmer mattress isn't necessarily the best choice for preventing back pain," it continued. "It's best to try out different types of mattresses to see which one feels best to you and your back."

The blog also suggests that sitting at your desk all day and not exercising can also cause back problems.

Earlier this month, Dr Gretchen Phillips told Kare11.com that establishing a routine before getting into your comfortable bed can help ensure you have a better night's sleep. However she added that it was important that this routine was followed every day, even at weekends.
