Get the garden ready for 'for Saturday scorcher'

After a bitterly cold winter, this weekend could be the perfect time to get cracking on gardens.

According to the Met Office, people should consider getting their barbecues and garden furniture out of storage as it expects a scorcher of a weekend.

A spell of warm, dry weather is currently sweeping across the UK thanks to a band of high pressure coming in from the Atlantic.

Temperatures on Saturday (April 10th) could reach as high as 20 degrees C and the south-east is expected to enjoy its hottest day of the year, while Scotland and Northern Ireland, which experienced snow last week, could see temperatures of 17 degrees C.

The Met Office also expects the rest of the month to remain warn, while earlier this year, online forecaster Positive Weather Solutions predicted that the UK will have a very hot summer, with temperature matching those of 1976.
