Small room? Make it more spacious with matching furniture

Although we're a fan of having bits and pieces in a room, there is nothing worse than a room that looks really cluttered. As well as looking untidy, the room can end up feeling smaller than it actually is.

If you've found this is the case, it might be time to invest in matching furniture, according to Warren Evans.

The furniture maker said: "To create a coherent room design, I would advise that the style and decor of the furniture all complement each other - otherwise it can create a busy and cluttered look, minimising the space that you have."
If you haven't much money, a quick way to update a room is to give it a lick of paint.

When it comes to bedrooms, he also recommended getting rid of any clutter or piles in the corner with under bed storage boxes, putting a fluffy rug down on the floor to give a focal point to the room and buying some new bed linen.
