Brits urged to book car rentals early
18/08/2009
Brits hoping to get away on for some credit crunch travel over the bank holiday weekend are being advised to ensure they book car hire early to avoid disappointment.According to Carrentals.co.uk, many hire firms cut their stock levels earlier in the year in anticipation of reduced demand from tourists. However, with more Brits now on the lookout for last-minute holiday bargains, shortages of cars for rent are already being reported in areas such as Alicante and Malaga. Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk, said car hire companies have scaled back during the credit crunch, but visitor numbers have held up. "Travellers need to book early and look beyond the big brand names. It's all about shopping around and booking in advance to avoid getting caught out," he added. According to a recent Carrentals.co.uk survey, Dublin is one of the cheapest destinations for renting a car in Europe. See how much you can save with our latest credit crunch travel offers ![]() |
