For non-sporting fans, it's been a difficult summer. But, for sport lovers, summer 2010 has been great. There was the longest tennis match ever at Wimbledon, the World Cup and various Grand Prixs.Now, Singapore is getting ready to hold the first ever Youth Olympic Games, which means that visitors to the country during August will become part of sporting history, Eunice Yeo, area director for northern and western Europe for the Singapore Tourism Board, London, has said. From August 16th to 26th, 14 to 18 year olds will compete in all 26 sports on the programme for the 2012 London Olympic Games. The city state, which is expecting over 500,000 visitors for the tournament, has lots of offer visitors, she said. "In honour of this sporting highlight, Singapore will come alive with a series of events and parties to showcase the best of what the island has to offer."
