 The Canadian city of Vancouver is preparing for next month's Winter Olympic Games 2010.
Thousands of additional tourists are expected to descend on the British Columbian capital during February.
The games, however, are not the only draw to British Columbia's capital this winter, Tourism British Columbia said.
A number of other events, such as the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad featuring hundreds of well known artisans, will take place at the same time as the games.
Eileen Clarke, spokesperson for Tourism British Columbia, said nearly 200 artistic events will be held throughout the city featuring visual art, music, dance, theatre and performance art.
She added: "Some other general ideas on things to do in Vancouver include classics such as Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge."
The city also offers plenty of opportunities to experience attractions, food and drink without breaking the bank, she noted.
Ms Clarke said: "Visit Granville Island, foodie heaven and sample the locally grown market produce or buy fresh fish and chips and dine picnic style on the water's edge."
According to the Concierge.com's It List 2010 Vancouver is on travellers' radars this year.
