Hawaii is not 'very expensive'

16/02/2010

Hawaii is not 'very expensive'While many Brits want to go to Hawaii, they often think it is too expensive, it has been claimed.

According to the Hawaii Tourism Authority, the weak US dollar has ensured that holidays in Hawaii are often excellent value for money.

A spokesperson for the organisation noted: "Although Brits see Hawaii as a dream destination, they sometimes perceive it as being expensive [but] this is a misconception."

"A holiday to Hawaii is considerably cheaper than visiting Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific for the same length of time."

She added that Hawaii is renowned for its "hundreds of white sandy beaches, surfing hotspots and being the childhood home of Obama".

More people are also choosing to travel to the state's islands of Aloha, she added.

Earlier this month, a survey from the Wanderlust and AITO revealed that 83 per cent of respondents are intending to take at least the same number of trips or more in the year ahead.
