Hot holiday destinations for 2010 unveiled
29/12/2009
The hottest holiday destinations for 2010 have been unveiled in a new list from STA Travel.According to the firm, Los Angeles will be the top city destination of the coming year, followed by Dubai and Hong Kong. Other cities that made it into the top ten must see cities include Mexico City, Cape Town, Berlin, Tokyo and Beijing. Beunos Aires and Lisbon completed the top ten. Ian Swain, product director from STA Travel said: "2009 was the year of the staycation, and cutting back on unnecessary expenditure. "Whilst the UK has a wealth of hidden gems to offer, as the economic outlook improves, travellers are looking to make the most of their precious time off work by visiting some of the worlds most aspirational cities." Los Angeles made it to the top of the list with the help of major celebrity endorsement and the arrival of David Beckham. Just before Christmas the home arena of the Los Angeles Lakers was flooded with advertisements for Beijing, encouraging people to travel to the Chinese city.
