Kyoto offers 'great' food and drink
19/01/2010
Food and drink lovers will find that the Japanese cities of Kyoto and Osaka have much to offer, according to the Japan National Tourist Organisation. Its comments came as the first UK edition of the Michelin Guide to Kyoto and Osaka was launched. Kylie Clark, press manager at the Japan National Tourist Organisation, said food and wine lovers who have been inspired by the new guide to visit the cities will be able to chose from a selection of new gourmet tours being launched by British holiday operators in 2010. "The two cities have already received quite a bit of press since for becoming 'Michelin-starred cities' so the recognition alone of their restaurants being good enough to warrant a Michelin guide is sure to have already lured some foodie travellers to visit them," she noted. "A dining and cultural experience not to be missed in Kyoto is a night in a ryokan (traditional inn) complete with a kaiseki dinner," she added.
