New online community 'taking awkwardness out of travelling'

A new online community has been set up with the aim of taking the awkwardness out of meeting members of a tour group.

Speaking after the launch of the new online community platform, Jenny Black, head of marketing of TrekAmerica, said holidaymakers will be able to interact with people who are to travel on their chosen trip and essentially meet them before they hit the road

She noted: "The awkward meet and greet on the first day of tour will be a thing of the past."

The company's new site, TrekAmerica Live, also provides customers with their own profile where they can update friends and family along the trip and get advice and ideas from previous trekkers.

She added: "For those considering a TrekAmerica tour, there is a wealth of information on both a destination and tour specific level in terms of photos, videos and forum posts."

TrekAmerica provides adventure holidays to the US, including Alaska, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.
