The Eastern European country of Poland has been named one of the destinations of the decade by the Guardian.
According to the newspaper, Poland is a "country with a rich political past, fantastic culture and beautiful countryside".
Commenting on the news, Ewa Binkin, development, PR and press manager at the Polish National Tourist Office, said the country has an "authentic flair", which is attractive to the modern tourist.
"Because it's still the old Europe [and] because civilisation hasn't hit us the way it has in many other countries, you get this uniqueness in every place you go to," she added.
Ms Binkin noted that the country offered excellent value for money for Brits as it is outside of the eurozone and the exchange rates were good.
"I'm not saying the destination is cheap because that would be derogative and wrong but it definitely has the value for money effect," she added.
A recent poll conducted by Travelzoo revealed that 55 per cent of respondents were more optimistic about their travel plans this year.
