Spain's affordability 'endears it to travelling Brits'
21/01/2010
Spain is the cheapest eurozone destination, according to the Annual Post Office Travel Services Holiday Money Report. The country came fourth overall, showing a price fall of 30 per cent for the same items surveyed a year ago. Jamaica, Egypt and Dubai top the list of destinations where British holidaymakers will have the most extra cash in their pocket, the Post Office said, adding that the strengthening of the pound over the past 12 months has helped make these destinations affordable. Francesca Ecsery, global sales director of Cheapflights.co.uk, noted that Spain has always been one of the UK's favourite destinations. "As well as the country's reliable weather, beautiful scenery and lively culture, its affordability - thanks to the huge number of low-cost routes between the UK and Spain - endears it to travelling Brits," she added. For those who want to avoid crowds of tourists, Ms Ecsery recommended the southern city of Cadiz. See how much you can save with our latest credit crunch offers. Posted by Carla Spuri. ![]() |
