Thames cruising offers 'great experience'
13/01/2010
People visiting the Thames will find fantastic historical sites along the river, according to Kris Cruisers. Chris Clark, co-proprietor of the company, said that the Thames offers great experiences, from "rowing a boat or taking a cruiser for a week's holiday". He added that the river has a number of historical destinations which people can visit while boating, including Windsor Castle, Oxford and Hampton Court. "It is easier to park and to moor than it is to park a car half the time and you've got your home with you. You can just keep going," he noted. "It's a leisurely holiday. Don't rush it. Don't plan your day, go along and enjoy it," he added. Earlier this week, research from the British Marine Federation revealed that the commercial marine industry is beginning to show signs of recovery. Revenue rose by 1.9 per cent to £3.16 billion for 2008/09. According to a poll of 2,000 people by travelsupermarket.com, 16 per cent of Brits say their main summer holiday will be in the UK.
