Time crucial to 'exciting California holiday'
14/05/2010
Having enough time to fully explore California is crucial to an exciting holiday, California Tourism has advised.Maddy Morgan, PR director for California Tourism UK and Ireland, said: "The key to getting the most out of California is allowing yourself the time to enjoy the variety of what's on offer." First time visitors should consider driving the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to LA as it "showcases the transition from rugged beaches, windy roads and microclimate weather to the more riviera sunshine style of the south", Ms Morgan advised. It is also worth venturing inland, where it is possible to discover deserts, mountains and natural wonders such as Yosemite National Park. If you don't fancy driving, it is often possible to buy cheap flights or there is also an affordable train network, meaning you can still ski and surf in one day, she added. Her comments came as an article in LA Times noted that California's Travel and Tourism Commission has predicted an increase in visitor numbers for 2011 of almost three per cent.
