Virgin Holidays 'makes' life easier for cruise passengers
19/01/2010
Virgin Holidays is aiming to make life easier for its cruise passengers with the launch of its new Luggage Chauffeur service. The firm will collect holidaymakers' bags from their homes, free of charge, and ensure that they arrive safely at their door once the trip is over. One 30kg bag per person from their home to their ship's cabin is included in the cost of the cruise holiday, with any extras costing £35 each, each way. The deal is available for all Virgin Holiday customers sailing from Southampton with P&O, Princess and Cunard cruises. Leslie Peden, managing director of Virgin Holidays Cruises, said: "It's our focus to make holidays as smooth sailing as possible and the introduction of the Luggage Chauffeur service for Southampton departures means that this begins the moment our customers step out of their front door." She added that if it proves popular the service will be rolled out across other Virgin Holidays cruise destinations in the future. Last week, it was reported that Virgin Holidays has launched a new portfolio of holidays in its 2010 cruise brochure, including the addition of two new six-star cruise lines, called Regent Seven Seas and Silversea, as part of the Virgin Holidays Cruises Platinum Collection.
