Research can help people find 'home improvement offers'

25/02/2010

Research can help people find 'home improvement offers'Doing research can help people source home improvement offers and find a suitable look for their home, it has been claimed.

According to Ideal Homes' spokesperson Linda Barker, keeping a book or mood board of magazine cuttings, paint samples and fabric swatches "helps people to focus their ideas".

People planning to undertake DIY projects should also visit high-end showrooms to get inspiration, she added.

"It is about going to the best showrooms to get the best ideas and looking how it is done at the very top end and then fitting your budget around it and not compromising on look," she said.

"You are not going to get exactly the same kind of finish, you might get a veneer wood as opposed to a solid wood but you can get a look that is quite consistent and quite high end," she noted.

Earlier this month, Beautiful Magazine said people are choosing 1950s home interior designs thanks to shows such as Mad Men.
