Top wine destinations named

Top wine destinations namedFood and drink lovers may be interested to known that Tripadviser has named its top ten wine locations.

Marlborough in New Zealand was once again named as one of the world's top wine tourism destinations by the online travel community website, which ranked it as the tenth most popular destination for wine connoisseurs.

Marlborough is "presumably New Zealand's main wine tourism destination," the website noted.

"Famous for its varietal white wines, the region's incredible sauvignon blancs are much sought-after," it said.

The Lonely Planet has also previously named the area as one of the world's best wine regions.

Bordeaux and Champagne-Ardenne in France, Tuscany in Italy, Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California, Barossa Valley in Australia, La Roja in Spain, Central Valley in Chile, and Stellenbosch in South Africa also ranked in Tripadvisor's top ten.

During 2009, Tripadvisor named California's Napa Valley as the top wine destination in North America.
